Democrats formally made Joe Biden their presidential nominee, a role he has sought for more than three decades, capping a come-from-behind victory in the primaries he secured with a broad coalition of his party’s voters.
Shortly after 10 p.m. EDT Tuesday, Mr. Biden received the support of enough delegates to clinch the nomination during a roll-call vote on the second night of the Democrats’ virtual national convention. The former vice president will face Republican President Trump in the November election.
